Situated only 100 metres from the main square, one would expect the hotel to be noisy with all the traffic noise....But the hotel remains quiet and very peaceful with no background noise from the bedroom at all.We could let the atmosphere in by opening the double glazed windows or shut it out to suit. The hotel is immaculate and has a swimming pool on the roof terrace which overlooks Mount Vesuvius and across the bay of Naples. We were greeted by "CINZIA" at the reception who we had liased with regarding the Volcanic ash crisis previously who remembered us and was extremely pleasant and helpful...."A credit to the Plaza".We stayed bed and breakfast and the food was always perfect with a choice for all tastes..and again the staff where always really friendly and charming. If you havent been to Sorrento it is a truly beautiful city with narrow streets, beautiful views, friendly restraunts with good food and just a lovely romantic ambience...This is now our third time we have been back in 2 years and will keep on going for such a lovely relaxing break. We would like to thank the Plaza for all there help and kindness in making out trip so enjoyable. Roger and Cari Hannant
We went to Italy for a 10 day trip, spending 4 days in Sorrento. We went to hotel plaza based on tripadvisor recommendations and were quite pleased. Location was next to the Plaza Tasso (the main plaza), 10 minutes or less away from train station and close to everything. The hotel is bright white with blue trimmings - a very modern hotel amongst more traditional, class options. In typical European fashion, the room was small, but had nightstands, a small desk and a TV. We also had a small balcony with (of course) white chairs. The bathroom was nice with square toilets, a square bathtub and a very modern sink. The front desk people were consistently available and helpful. The breakfast was great - lots of bread options, pastries, cakes, fruit, cereal, salami. hot bacon & sausage & scrambled eggs and my favorite - a juicer so you can make your own juices (don't try the oranges in April though - too sour still.) One complaint - bed was hard, but that seems to be typical in all the hotels we stayed in. Also, the pool was small and closed - so why have it at all? Overall, a very clean and modern hotel, a great place to base our trips to pompeii and capri from.
Everything was right about this hotel. Staff were friendly & helpful, hotel is beautifully designed & furnished. Buffet breakfast was good & they will cook eggs to order if you ask. Rooms were only average size but nicely furnished. Remarkably quiet at night despite wood flooring & being in the heart of Sorrento.
Hotel Plaza is well located in the heart of Sorrento. It's new, modern and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great - good quality food with lots of options. The one downside we found was that being on the 1st floor near the stairwell and lift we could quite clearly hear people coming in late at night. Other than that, it was a great hotel and we were very happy with our stay.
The service was great and the staff was very friendly. Atmosphere is nice and calm. The pool on the rooftop with view over city centre and Vesuvio is absolutly astonishing. Great breakfast buff. Rooms are small but has a modern look and very high standard. Sometimes they even cleaned the rooms a few times a day, awsome ;-) WIFI-Internet was free for first time, but when you would like to use it more frequently it cost some more.
We stayed in this hotel for 4 days in March . The room was neat and very modern and even the buffet breakfast was good. Very excellent service with the hotel staff. They were very friendly and helpfull. We really enjoyed it. We recommend.
I stayed in this hotel in October 2009 and it was wonderful. After travelling around the northern cities of Italy and having a wonderful time staying in a wide variety of hotels and apartments Plaza Hotel was a wonderful way to finish my holiday. The hotel is fairly new and my whole experience was fantastic from the moment I arrived. Staff were excellent; room was clean and a good size with a beautiful bathroom. Up on the roof is a smallish pool area which overlooks the bay area of Naples and Mt Vesuvius. Perfect!! Sorrento Italy was also wonderful and would recommend staying here over the other towns in this area. The main areas are flat and easily accessible, whereas the towns on the other side ie Amalfi and Positano are on cliff faces so everything is either up or down. Do yourself a favour and stay at this hotel.
