This is a lovely small hotel in the heart of Sorrento. I hadn't realised the town was so small until we got there- the hotel is less than a 10 minute walk to the train station, 2 minutes to the main square and fifteen minutes from the port. All in all a great place. The reception staff werre very welcoming and gave us all kind of guides and information, the bar was large, not very crouded and well priced. Breakfast was plentiful and had a good choice. Before we got there I was concrened that we would have a pokey room as we'd booked on a cheap deal- however we got a spacious corner room at the front with a balcony, large comfortable chair and two dressing chairs. The bathroom amenities were really good- the rainforest shower was wonderful. The only 2 small niggles were that the bath products were not replaced after we'd used them- not a huge deal- and it wasn't particularly warm when we stayed and we found it impossible to get the room to heat up. Also of note is that the rooftop bar and pool were not open whilst we were there- no doubt it is seasonal. We went for a look and it is a lovely area, it would have been nice to go back in the summer and enjoy a cocktail with the views.
Simply an amazing stay in a new trendy hotel in beautiful Sorrento. A sophisticated and friendly environment we enjoied the perfect stay right in the centre of Sorrento. Best roof top by the pool to enjoy the perfect coktail and apertivo overlooking the stunning bay of Sorrento with its Vesuvio. Blissful!
Mr. Bruno Amuro, Manager Hotel Plaza, Sorrento Dear Mr. Amuro, This letter is well overdue, but is a must as I want to express sincere appreciation on behalf my family for the most hospitable treatment that my wife (Meredith), my brother (Nicola), my sister (Fifi Lorenzo) and I received during our stay at The Hotel Plaza, Sorrento earlier in April of this year. Thanks to the quality of your service and to your staff. First, I wish to thank each and everyone at the reception desk, not only for their general courteous treatment and friendly smiles, at all hours of the day and night, but also for the extra assistance they accorded us as we tried to track and confirm our return flights following the eruption of the Icelandic volcano. I also want to thank them for all the suggestions and guidance that helped us enjoy our stay despite the frequent rains. And we especially appreciated their helping us with taxi arrangements and choice of friendly drivers, which undoubtedly represents the Plaza and its hospitality policies. And our experience at breakfast could not go unnoticed as the chef and each of the waiters, were most friendly and accommodating. The food selection was tasty, the presentation tastefully inviting, and the service superb. And like the reception desk staff, the breakfast room staff were most helpful in guiding us to the various restaurants in Sorrento and suggesting places to see and things to do in the entire region. During our stay we came to consider each of the following of your staff as our friends: 1. Giovanni Galano 2. Rafaelle De Simone 3. Cinzia Lazzazzara 4. Maurizio Figliomeni 5. Chef Antonino 6. Guiseppe 7. Diego Please thank each one of them on our behalf and many thanks to you for your leadership. All the best, Mina Ghattas Mina B. Ghattas, Ph.D. 73 Rowena Road Newton Centre, MA 02459 USA

We found this hotel on Tripadivsor, stayed 2 nights in November, hesitated awhile to write a review----but this was out of our concern that we would be boringly repetitive to what others have already said. Yes, the hotel was chic and hip, the decor was magazine-worthy, the room was not huge but neat and comfortable, Raffaele at the counter was indeed very helpful, but the top draw for us was location, location, and location. Especially so, because we landed in Sorrento in rainy weather, and the hotel's extremely convenient location enabled us to manouvre very quickly around Piazza Tasso, the Corso, and the harbour area despite the rain. Perhaps it was due to the low season, we were also able to secure parking within the hotel although we understood that carparking was readily available just across the road. The icing to all these was that, peace and quiet were not sacrificed by its convenience. Two-minute walk from the Corso/Tasso and we would be back in the hotel's restful setting. For us, a nice stay.
